Easing Hunger Since 2000
Lynn Staggs first launched this mission in single room and later a building on 7th Avenue. Since moving to our Spartanburg Highway location, the Storehouse has continued to grow larger, as the needs of individuals and families increased in Henderson County. In 2019, we distributed more than 420,000 lbs. of food to our neighbors in need. We provided assistance to 11,475 individuals (4,368 households) in 2022.
Most people pick-up their food boxes, but 57 of our seniors and special needs clients receive a monthly delivery. Volunteer teams pack and deliver the food boxes, and since January 2020, non-food essentials as well. Of course, we are here to assist emergency food needs, as they arise.
Each Christmas since 2000, "Blessings in Boxes" has delivered gifts for children referred from schools and local agencies. In 2022, your generosity brought smiles and Christmas blessings to 2038 children from 728 families.
